What the....?

What the hell, Blogger?

"In the coming weeks, we'll no longer allow blogs that contain sexually explicit or graphic nude images or video. We'll still allow nudity presented in artistic, educational, documentary, or scientific contexts, or where there are other substantial benefits to the public from not taking action on the content."

Isn't this what the 18+ warning is about in the first place?

So, to those that like my poses and wish to keep them available to the public: What should I do? I have a tumblr account, but I mostly just use it to link to this. I suppose I could post download links in Facebook posts too and include jpg's of things that I can't post a pic with in fb. BUT that's not what I like to do. I like the way Blogger sets things up. Well, I used to.

What should I do?

  3. I too got the message and I don't get where they are telling me this. Seriously. My Blogs do not have sexual content on them. Except for one naked picture but you only see her but.

  5. I recommend using tumblr or moving over to wordpress.com (not .org). You can export your entire website and move it to wordpress.com fairly easily. Really, it comes down to what would be easiest for you and what you would be comfortable with. Here is the simple guide from wordpress on how to do it. https://en.support.wordpress.com/import/coming-from-blogger/

Ugh...annoying blogger, will not let me post under my normal handle so I have to use this google one. Seriously, ugh. -_-

  6. Hmm, wierdly, I think I saw that message a while ago, but I didn't change anything on my blogs, and literally, nothing happened. So, I have no idea what it's all about.

  7. I vote Tumblr. You could always keep posting here and just link any NSFW posts directing them to Tumblr or something like that.

  8. My guess is that it concerns pornography. It has happened before, when Blogspot turned into Blogger. They do this for the company's value in the market.

I am also guessing that our Sims stories and poses and illustrations would fall under the category of 'artistic', maybe even educational? Ha-ha. Otherwise, will wel see our stories censored?

The problem with moving from one platform to another, like from blogger to wordpress, is that all external links become dead, and you have to redirect to your new blog -- I've done this before, and it is not satisfactory.

It's a silly move from Blogger, like it was from Blogspot in the past. They erased all the pornographic content for a while, it migrated to other platforms and retuerned. Like you say, Isn't this what the 18+ warning is about?

I don't think your poses are under threat, this is my guess.

  10. Thank you, everyone.
Yes, I remember when Blogger attempted something like this in the past, but they were targeting serious porn sites.

At any rate, this is a moot point now. Thank you to all the Bloggers out there that filled the complaint box and made them decide to not do this.
